“It’s really very exciting. And after almost two and a half months of thrills and waiting, here I am in the professional league now,” said 6’6” Norwood, the No. 1 pick who promised to help the Elasto Painters improve on their standing this year.
Welcoat was 10th in the last four conferences, winning only a total of 10 games since 2006.
“I thank the management of Rain or Shine for their trust in me. I hope it’s going to be a banner year for the team this time. I’m sure I can be a lot of help to the team,” added the 23-year-old Norwood, who helped Hapee Toothpaste to a runner-up finish in the 2008 PBL Unity Cup.
Norwood was a member of the RP team which finished ninth in the 2007 FIBA-Asia Championship in Tokushima, Japan.
